The Autana river tour offers you the chance to enjoy tepuy formations rising from the amazonian jungles, together with metamorphic granite formations. We´ll board our dugout canoe along the Sipapo river till we enter the Autana river, passing floodable forests, sandy beaches, a few rapids and weird rock formations. You´ll also have the chance to meet Piaroa and Wahibo indians at the camp of Ceeguera, which offers a spectacular view of the 1.300 m high Autana tepuy. A 2 hour walk will be waiting for us to Wahari mountain, where we´ll enjoy a spectacular 360 degree view of the surrounding jungles, rivers and mountain formations.
Itinerary:
Day 1
We board our jeeps and head south for abut 45 minutes passing the floodable savannas of Orinoco river, till the port of Samariapo, where we board our dugout canoe to ride the Sipapo river. We stop at Caldero rapids to have lunch and take a bath, and we continue to boca de Autana camp, where we´ll spend the night in hammocks with moskito nets. River time: 4-6 hours

Day 2
The day begins with a short walk along the forest surrounding the camp, then we board our motorized canoe again to enter Autana river, giving the chance to spot some Piroa indigenous communities. We arrive to our next camp, Ceguera, where we´ll leave our things and go for a 2 hour walk to Wahari mountain, whith a perfect 360 degree view of the surroundings: Autana tepuy, and the amazonian jungle. We head back to our camp, to stay overnight. Rivertime: 2-4 hours

Day 3
This morning, after breakfast, we go to the viewpoint of the rapids of Ceguera, to get some last spectacular glimpses of the table mountain and the jungle. Afterwards we board again our bongo, to start our journey back along the river. We will stop at Manaka camp, where we will enjoy our last night, with jungle sounds. Rivertime: 4 hours

Day 4
After breakfast, we have the last ride of the day till Samariapo port, where we will take our car back to Pto. Ayacucho.
