Follow the steps of great explorers such as Robert Schomburgk and Everhard Im Thurn to get to the top of the Tepuy that inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to write his book of ¨The Lost World¨. The whole expedition has a mystic aura while walking through the savannah surrounded by tepuys, reaching the Base Camp, each time closer to the Lost World, till you find yourself on top of Roraima enjoying a fantastic scenery of endemic flora and fauna, and rocks molded by hydraulic and aeolian forces, giving them a strange look....

Itinerary:

Day 1

In the morning, we leave Santa Elena de Uairén, a close town close to the Brazilian border, towards Paraitepuy in a 4WD vehicle. On the road we´ll be able to enjoy the savanna, the tepuys, crossing a few creeks, till we reach the Pemón Indian community of Paraitepuy to arrange our equipment and commence our walk till Kukenam River where we´ll be camping.

Day 2

Right after Breakfast, we´ll begin our walk approaching the walls of the tepuy, till we reach the Base Camp. From there we´ll enjoy a spectacular view of Kukenam, the neighbor tepuy to Roraima and its high waterfall, and a nice sunset.

Day 3

This day we will meet the powerful wall of that ancient rock formation, and will meet the entrace to the house of the Imawari, spirits that live on top of the tepuys, according to Pemón beliefs. We´ll pass the valley of tears, and finally reach the summit of Roraima, where we´ll look for a Hotel, a shelter that consists of a flat rock that gives protection against rain and sun.

Day 4

We´ll leave very early in the morning to hike towards the ridge of the tepuy to enjoy a beautiful view, and after breakfast, we´ll so a few exploratory walks towards the triple point, where the boarders of Venezuela, Brazil and British Guyana meet. On the way we´ll spot the jacuzzis and quarz rock formations.

Day 5

We´ll start descending the tepuy, and for lunch we´ll stop at the base camp, and will continue afterwards to Tök river, where we´ll camp.

Day 6

After breakfast we´ll have our final walk to Paraitepuy to meet our 4WD vehicles that will take us to Santa Elena de Uairén.
