Venezuela is a country with many contrasts, and its beautiful flying sites reflect it. It was in by the year 1996 when it was seriously considered by the international paragliding population, as it opened its doors for a Paragliding World Cup, where several recordbraking tasks where flown.

There are different environments for each taste of flying. You can find alpine flying in the andes, coastal ridge soaring above cristal clear waters and white beaches, go hunt for records in mountain chains that end in the plains called Llanos, fly above exotic forests listening to the fauna which is alive under the canopy of the trees, and go to the amazonas or the great Guayana shield to fly next to the mystic tablemountains, called Tepuys by the native indians.

In Venezuela it is possible to fly through the whole year. It has mainly two seasons: dry and rainy. The rainy season goes from April till november, and despite its name, it doesn´t mean that it will be raining the whole time. The conditions are soft and you find relatively low cloudbases. Dry season on the other hand is a booster. Conditions get strong, fast thermals, high cloud bases (3000m/9900 feet average), and the winds tend to get stronger.
