This is more than a simple flight: It is a morning tour. We meet early in the morning at 5am at the entrance of Hotel Avila, where you can safely leave your car. We board our 4WD transport, that will take us up to 1.800 meters above sea level to Boca de Tigre in Galipán. From there, we start a 30 minute walk to watch the sunset and the caribbean from the Picacho (little peak). While the pilots prepare the gliders for take off, you can enjoy the view, and take some pics.
We launch, and we start overflying Galipán, a farmer area with simple an beautiful houses. We will spot the reminders of the great Vargas mud slides, and how they transformed the geology of the area. We will also spot the peaks of Lagunazo, Oriental and Naiguatá, and spectacular cloud forests. Then we open up to the coast, overfly the ocean, and then land in Camurí Chico, enjoying the colors of the water and the boats that appear to be floating above the water.
We will have the chance to take a bath, while our driver arrives, and then we drive back to Caracas over Galipán, stopping for some fabulous pork sandwiches, some strawberries with cream, and hot chocolate. We normally arrive in Caracas between 10 and 11am.
Includes: 4WD transport hotel Ávila - Boca de Tigre, Galipán. 30 to 40 minute flight, transport back to Caracas over Galipán.

FAQ
Why do we fly so early?
The Flight from Picacho requires special conditions: The take off lies at almost 1.900 meters above sea level. At this height, the mountain is exposed to winds, that arrive directly from the caribbean without interruptions, and generally speaking, the later along the day, the stronger the winds get. So strong, that is turns unsafe to take off. Safety comes first for us. We do not improvise, and we take off, when conditions are suitable for a safe flight.
For this, we are in touch with our driver at 4:15am, who lives in Galipán, and he informs us about the conditions at the moment: Wind intensity, clouds, rain. With his information, we take the decision whether to fly or not on that day.
The same rule apply while arriving to the take off. If it is nos safe, the flight will be suspended, based upon the pilots´ decision.
FOR THIS REASON, IT´S IMPORTANT TO BE ON TIME FOR THIS FLIGHT!
Who can fly?
Any person who can walk without any problems, and is healthy, without any heart complications. We have flown from 4 year old kids (with their parent´s authorization), to 75 year old persons. You simply need motivation, and be able to walk for 30 minutes.
