Los Cocos is a surfers beach located between Carúpano and río Caribe at the northern part of Paria Peninsula. The take off has an amazing view over the beach and the impressive steep coast of Paria. The best conditions for flying here are with strong N-E winds that will alow to soar along the ridge.
If you do not know the place, I recommend you to leave your car at the beach in front of a fish restaurant, and ask for ¨Los Morochos¨, the twins. They know the take off, and always help Eduardo, the local pilot to carry all his stuff up. And they show lots of interest and already some knowledge about paragliding. If the twins are not there, most of the kids at the beach can lead you to the take off. You cross the road, and from there it´s a light 20 min walk to a launch that allows about 3 wings to be set ready. During flight, try to keep close to the ridge, to take advantage of the updrift, and enjoy the view!
Landing is quite simple, you have the whole beach. It´s just important to be aware of palm trees, and wires.
