El Olimpo is one of the most popular flying spots in Trujillo State. It is located on the northern part of the Andean Range of Venezuela.

Here it is possible to fly almost every day. The wind tends to blow from 10am till 5pm. Flying into the mountains it's easy to find thermals making it easy to reach more than 2.200 masl.

The take off has space to put 4 gliders at the same time, and the landing field is huge, about the size of two football fields.

To get to el Olimpo take the road Valera - La Puerta for aproximately 20 min till you arrive at San Isidro. From there you can ask the road to the take off, it's just an 8 minute drive and it's possible with any kind of vehicle.
